Turtle (kame)
Turtle in Japanese is δΊ€ which is read kame. The Japanese word kame translates as "turtle; tortoise" and is a single kanji. Also kame can be written in hiragana which I have done for a few examples that offset the simplicity of the word and, I feel, also aptly capture the beauty. Here we offer six different hand-brushed Turtle Japanese tattoo designs by Master Japanese Calligrapher Eri Takase. Note that the fonts are different, but the characters and the meaning are all exactly the same. Also Japanese is commonly written vertically and horizontally and both have the same meaning. So order the font and layout that appeals to you because the characters and meaning are the same. Translations You Can Trust: We want you to be as happy with the Japanese translation as you are with Master Takase's beautiful art. So we have made it easy to confirm the translation for yourself by simply clicking on Turtle (kame) which links to the independent Jeffrey's Japanese English Dictionary. |
